Australian Evaluation Society Award for Best Practice in Public Sector Evaluation

Excellence in the design, implementation and reporting of evaluation strategies or individual studies of programs or policies that benefit the WA community is the focus of this award.

Open To

  • Organisations only. 
  • Must demonstrate excellence in the practice of evaluation.
  • The evaluation strategies or studies being nominated need to have been implemented or completed within the last year, or been significantly amended in the last year, or the nomination needs to focus on the outcomes within the last year.
  • Any organisation that works in Western Australia in any tier of public service including Local; State; Federal; Not-for-Profit and the Academic sector, or has conducted an evaluation study on a public program or policy.

How to nominate for this award:

  1. Ensure you have carefully read the general How to Nominate page (in particular the Nomination Checklist)
  2. Download and complete the Award Assessment Criteria Document (see below)
  3. Upload the completed Assessment Criteria with a brief summary statement (100 words) and details of at least one referee to the Online Entry Form.

  • C1: Outline how the nominee has applied sound use of evaluation theory and/or approaches. 
  • C2: Describe how the nominee has shown high quality and effective practice in consultation, design, planning, data collection and analysis, and/or reporting.
  • C3: Outline how the nominee has shown an active use of innovative best practice in evaluation.
  • C4: Provide a minimum of two stakeholder testimonials which demonstrate that the stakeholders are highly satisfied with the evaluation work and its use and/or impact.
