Annual General Meeting and Member Meet and Greet

IPAA WA Individual and Corporate Member representatives attended the Institute's member 'meet and greet' networking evening and Annual General Meeting, hosted at 140 William Street, Perth on 16 October 2014.

Members gained the opportunity to vote in the new 2014/15 IPAA WA Council and hear what the Institute is all about and meet fellow members from across the sector.

2013/14 Key Achievements

  • 4,505 total delegate registrations across all Events, Training & In-Agency program
  • 15 member events, seminars & continental breakfasts
  • 2 award ceremonies
  • 2 managed events for 1 client
  • 97 Public Service Training courses delivered
  • 71 In-Agency programs delivered to 24 agencies
  • 39 presenters including Directors General, CEOs, Executive Directors, Politicians and Academics.
  • 10,000+ coffees, muffins and ham & cheese croissants
  • 37 donations made to charities on behalf of IPAA WA presenters

Key Challenges

  • Financial Challenges Operating in a tighter fiscal environment
  • Structural changes within the organisation to meet the challenging economic times
  • 2014 International Conference (an arduous but very rewarding effort), this has been very labour intensive
  • IPAA WA relocation from Perth CBD to Murdoch University

Plans For This Year

  • Devising and implementing a new Strategic Plan
  • Re-focus the areas of priorities (i.e. events and training) as determined by the Strategic Plan
  • Develop new courses relevant to the public sector
  • Enhance public discussion on issues facing public administrators
  • Finding innovative ways to operate in an even tighter fiscal environment
