IPAA WA Individual Mentoring: Resources

Why Mentoring?

Mentoring plays an important role in career and personal development.

The Public Sector Commission’s Centre for Public Sector Excellence encourages an approach to learning that that “blends experiential, collaborative and formal elements”. The Centre embraces the 70:20:10 Framework, which is a blended learning model. The “20” in this model is attributed to “relationship learning”, which is about learning from others, and more specifically highlights the importance of learning from “feedback, mentoring, coaching, networks and from observing and working with role models.” Find out more about the framework here.

Aside from the learning benefits, many people gain so much more by having a mentor. Hear some interviews Harvard University have compiled from some of the most influential, successful and famous people on how their mentors have helped them succeed.

If you have signed up for our individual mentoring program as a mentor or mentee and are not sure what to expect, we encourage you to look over some of the resources we have collated below that may be useful to you.
