Leader of the Year working within a Division / Team / Organisation

The winner of this award will be working in a management position within an organisation (from Local, State, or Federal Government, the Not-for-Profit or  Academic sectors in WA) and would have clearly demonstrated leadership qualities. He/she will be respected and demonstrate excellence in leading a team to meet designated objectives and outcomes in the interests of meeting the needs of the sector or community or industry they work with and advancing excellence within the sector.

  • Must be currently working in the identified category in WA or have worked there during the preceding financial year.

Criteria

  • C1: Provide a summary of the nominee’s leadership philosophy and the principles they bring to their organisation.
     
  • C2: Outline how the nominee has improved the effectiveness of their area of responsibility in; service delivery to their community or industry sector or contributed to the general goals of the organisation as a whole.
     
  • C3: Describe how the nominee has demonstrated excellence in public administration and management over recent years.
     
  • C4: Describe how the nominee provides excellent leadership within their organisation and/or during their career. 
     
  • C5: Using examples, demonstrate how the nominee’s division, team or organisation exhibits best practice in public administration as a result of the nominee’s leadership.
