Leader of the Year working within a Division / Team / Organisation

The winner of this award will be working in a management position within an organisation (from Local, State, or Federal Government, the Not-for-Profit or  Academic sectors in WA) and would have clearly demonstrated leadership qualities. He/she will be respected and demonstrate excellence in leading a team to meet designated objectives and outcomes in the interests of meeting the needs of the sector or community or industry they work with and advancing excellence within the sector.

  • Individuals only.
  • Must be currently working in the identified category in WA or have worked there during the preceding financial year.

Criteria

C1 Excellence in public administration and management over recent years.
C2 The division / team / organisation they lead demonstrates active use of best practice.
C3 Demonstrated active support and fostering of other public sector professionals.
C4 Improved service delivery to their local community, industry sector or to Western Australia, which contributes significantly to the public good of the community.
C5 Submit 1-2 page summary of why they have been nominated and what best practice principles they bring to their respective organisation. This would include a description of their leadership philosophy.
