Young Professional Scholarship
The Young Professional Scholarship is awarded annually to one Young Professional (YP) Member and provides the opportunity to attend the Institute’s National Conference.
Nominations for 2012 have now closed.
The scholarship provides the winner with return economy flights from Perth and full conference registration fee and is valued at over $2,000. The conference for 2013 will be held 20 - 21 November in Canberra.
The IPAA National Conference
The Institute of Public Administration Australia's 2013 National Conference will explore the theme 'Serving Australia in the 21st Century'. It will examine the sub-themes of BETTER, SMARTER, BROADER (encompassing agility and resilience, productivity and innovation and crossing borders). View the conference program at www.ipaa2013.org.au.
How to Apply
Application is on a self-nomination basis and requires:
- submission of a current resume including current position and contact details; and
- submission of a paper (max 400 words) outlining why you would like to attend the 2013 National Conference, and detailing how it will aid your professional development and career in the public service.
Each winner will be required to complete a brief report on their experience at the Conference. This will be published on the Institute’s website and you may also be required to make a short presentation at a future Young Professional’s event or the Institute's AGM.
Applications will be reviewed** by a panel and the winner will be notified by email and announced on the Institute’s website on 23 September 2013.
Eligibility & Closing Date
To be eligible to apply you must be aged 35 years and under, and have joined the Institute as a Young Professional Member after 01 July 2013.
Emailed applications for the competition must be received by the Institute no later than 5:00pm on Monday, 16 September 2013. Email your application to firstname.lastname@example.org with 'YP Scholarship' in the subject field.

** The panel’s decision is final. No correspondence will be entered into regarding the panel’s decisions. The panel reserves the right not to award the scholarship. The competition is open to all current financial (paid) YP Members for the period starting 01 July 2013. This excludes Complimentary Young Professional Memberships provided as part of benefit to Corporate Members.
