Overview

Social media use and expertise has become essential not only for everyday life, but for building professional connections. Navigating the various platforms which exist requires an understanding of each platforms’ interface, their target audience and their purpose. This workshop is the first in our Social Media for Professionals series of training programs, and it will provide you with a foundational understanding of social media platforms. It explores a brief background of social media, and provides you with an overview of some of the most commonly used platforms. You will explore why LinkedIn is the most popular platform for professionals, and how you can use it to facilitate professional connections and opportunities.

During the workshop there will be a practical component where you will have the opportunity to sign up to LinkedIn (if you haven't already) and explore its features. To enable this please bring a tablet or smartphone that can be connected to the internet via wifi, and ensure you have downloaded the LinkedIn app. We encourage participants to review the LinkedIn User Agreement prior to attending the workshop. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact our office on 9360 1400.
