This course is aimed at leaders who want to support the development of mental well-being in the workplace. Leaders will be introduced to key models to understand determinants of mental wellbeing and resilience as will also be provided with a simple framework for engaging in critical conversations to address mental health concerns in the workplace. Each participant will be able to clearly identify and commit to one or two key strategies that will make a difference in their own lives, both at work and at home. Participants will also be able to identify strategies for building resilience in the members of their team.

Course Content

  • Introduction to the Mental Health Continuum model developing an understanding of the factors contributing to mental wellbeing outcomes
  • Overview of the TLC Solutions 5C Mental Wellbeing Conversation
  • Understand the fundamentals of resilience
  • Identify the six pillars of resilience and associated strategies and actions to put into practice

Course Outcomes

By the end of the course participants will be able to:

  • Describe factors contributing to mental wellbeing outcomes;
  • Understand the role of a leader in cultivating mental wellbeing and resilience in their teams
  • Have conversations around mental wellbeing
  • identify specific practical strategies and actions to put into place to be more resilient individually
  • Support the implementations of strategies to build resilient workplace teams
