Public Sector Peak Body Attracts High Profile Speakers

The Western Australia Institute of Public Administration (IPAA) has today announced it has secured well known social justice campaigner, Betty Anne Waters for a morning seminar on 8 March. Her story inspired the movie ‘Conviction’, starring Oscar © winner Hillary Swank.

Chief Executive Officer Alison Petrie said “this is the first time the Institute has been able to bring someone of Betty Anne’s calibre to our program. WA is such an isolated state, so when we get the chance to give our members access to high profile speakers, we jump on it”.

Melbourne based demographer Bernard Salt is also on the Institute’s program presenting for the 2037: Regional WA Transformed seminar on 16 March whilst UK Professor and author, Helen Simmons delivers the course Using Case Studies in Evaluation of Programs and Policies.

“We will continue to bring international and high quality presenters to our members throughout 2012.” Mrs Petrie said.
