We now offer you an opportunity to hear from an incredible panel (see below) about leadership opportunities for WA public sector professionals in an international context.
Invest and Trade Western Australia acts as the Western Australian Government’s ‘front door’ to assist investors and businesses wanting to engage with the State’s world-leading industries, while also providing support to local business to reach their export potential.
The Western Australian Government currently operates an extensive network of investment and trade offices across five regions (ASEAN, China, India-Gulf, North East Asia and the United Kingdom/Europe), led by our Agent General and Investment and Trade Commissioners. A new Americas Hub is due to be launched in early 2024.
Attend this session to enhance your understanding of Invest and Trade Western Australia, the role of the Agent General and Investment and Trade Commissioners and their leadership journey, and the career opportunities that exist for WA public sector employees in investment and trade.
The immediate benefit to your existing and future organisations in attending this session is that you will return to work with a renewed and refreshed focus on performing to your highest level as you pursue wider or higher levels of responsibility.
Appointments to the Investment and Trade Commissioner roles are made under a secondment model within the Western Australian public sector and require successful candidates to demonstrate capabilities such as strategic policy experience, the ability to build productive relationships, good communication skills, stakeholder engagement expertise and effective leadership skills.
Serving as an Investment and Trade Commissioner is one of many exciting leadership and career opportunities available to WA public service professionals, and our upcoming session on 14 November 2023, Forging Your International Leadership Journey, will explore these opportunities in depth.
The session also brings together a panel of speakers led by Simone Spencer, Deputy Director General Strategy and International Engagement of the Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science and Innovation, Kaylene Gulich, Chief Executive Officer of the Western Australian Treasury Corporation together with Agent General, John Langoulant AO, and five Investment and Trade Commissioners.
