The IPAA WA Young Professional (YP) Advisory Committee provided other YP’s from across the sector the opportunity to hear from Prof. the Hon. Christian Porter about his stellar career journey over a delicious breakfast.
The aim of this event was to inspire and encourage young professionals in the public sector to take an interest in the political environment in which they work and hear from the former Western Australian Treasurer about his experiences in politics and what it’s like to walk in a State Minister’s shoes.
Christian provided an inspiring insight into his career journey and experiences in government including tips to advance young professionals career in the public sector. “Government is constantly looking for innovation from the public sector – don’t be dragged into the pit of inertia – create your own ideas and back it up with research.” Mr Porter said.
