Moving beyond any preoccupation with bits, bytes and technical language, this conference provided a conversation focused on delivering better services rather than just better websites or fancy data for their own sake. Acknowledging that service design and delivery is a multi-disciplinary team effort we have drawn together a program of speakers and topics that reflect the wide range of voices and skills required to meet the needs of citizens in the third decade of the 21st century.
This conference explored the realities and next phases of the implementation of citizen-centric service delivery and especially those that are supported by the whole of government digital transformation strategy. Citizens’ demand to access services via the digital channel has accelerated during the pandemic and there are indications this elevated level will continue beyond the pandemic.
Examples of where better services have come about in concert with good policy, service design and specialty skills and where digital technology has been successfully employed, not for simply for its own sake, but as a value add tool form the basis for all conversations in this conference.
Led by public service leaders, including Greg Italiano, W.A. Chief Information Officer, and a range of experts this engaging conference provided delegates with ready access to lessons from innovative agencies delivering better services that are inclusive, secure and accessible.
