At a time when all governments are asking their communities to behave in environmentally responsible ways, being energy smart can show that government is doing its bit by reducing its environmental footprint – Western Australian Auditor General’s Report. Energy Smart Government Report 6 – June 2010

This event was hosted in the newly established, energy efficient 140 William street building. Participants learnt how to develop and implement low carbon and clean energy projects and heard from a panel of speakers who have successfully implemented projects, from a diverse range of functional roles and organisational backgrounds. The first half of the workshop provided presentations from each speaker whilst the second half of the workshop focused on assisting participants to develop their own projects, through facilitated discussions and breakout sessions.

BIO: Margaret completed her PhD on corporations and sustainability at Murdoch University’s Institute of Sustainability and Technology Policy, Australia’s premier sustainability research institute. As Principal Policy Adviser for Sustainability to the Western Australian Minister for Planning and Infrastructure, Margaret provided state and national level advice. Margaret is also a guest editor of the international journal, Business Strategy and the Environment. She is a member of the Greening of Industry Network and the Western Australian Sustainability Practitioners Association.
